The process of change is what The Third Sector is here to support.

The Third Sector provides customised communications services including campaign strategy, political analysis, workshop facilitation, writing and editorial.

Our work recognises that the ability for individuals and groups to communicate in a strategic, coordinated and creative way is a key ingredient in the transformation of societies.

Around the world, we are facing environmental crises, social inequality and the failure of democratic accountability. These challenges are acutely felt in Africa. At the same time, African civil society – in its diverse forms and formats – presents the possibility for change. The process of change is what The Third Sector is here to support.

Jabulani Dhlamini (b. 1983, Free State) lives and works in Johannesburg. His portfolio focuses on his upbringing and reflects on various communities within contemporary South Africa. The collaboration between Jabulani and The Third Sector showcases images taken from the Umama, Recaptured and iSisekelo series. Jabulani’s photography captures historical events — such as the recollection of the Sharpeville Massacre, the effects of land dispossession and the funeral of anti-apartheid activist Winnie Madikizela-Mandela — while also documenting quieter moments in the everyday lives of South Africans.
